Free forever · No accounts · No trackers

Turn any website into a desktop app.

AppMaka takes the sites you live in — Gmail, YouTube, Notion, your bank — and gives each one its own window, its own icon, and its own space on your PC. No browser tabs. No address bar. No clutter.

v0.16.1 · 9 MB · Windows 10/11 · Early build — the honest details

AppMaka's launcher overlay with 'gm' typed — fuzzy search filtered the account grid to Gmail, Notion and GitHub entries

The real thing — AppMaka's launcher with "gm" typed, fuzzy search in action. Captured live from the app.

how it works

Three steps. No setup wizard, no account.

step 01

Add a site

Paste any URL. AppMaka grabs the site's name and icon and files it in your library, right next to your regular programs.

step 02

It becomes an app

The site opens in its own clean window — just the content, no browser wrapped around it. Re-opening focuses the same window instead of spawning copies.

step 03

Summon it anywhere

Hit Alt+Space and the spotlight launcher appears over whatever you're doing. Type a few letters, hit Enter, done. Esc and it's gone.

why not just use browser tabs?

Because your browser is a junk drawer.

47 tabs, three Gmails fighting over one login, ads everywhere. AppMaka fixes the parts that actually annoy you.

👥

Separate accounts that never mix

Work Gmail and personal Gmail, side by side, each signed in at the same time. Every account gets its own isolated storage — cookies never leak between them.

🛡️

Ad blocking built in

Requests are checked against EasyList and EasyPrivacy — the same lists uBlock Origin uses — and blocked before they even download. No extension, no setup.

🚫

Popups stay dead

New-window popups are blocked by default. When a site legitimately needs one — like a sign-in flow — a per-site allowlist lets it through in a contained window.

💤

Auto-suspend saves your RAM

Apps you're not looking at go to sleep instead of eating memory. Open a window, do your thing, forget about it — AppMaka cleans up after you.

⚡

A launcher, not another window to manage

Alt+Space fuzzy-searches your web apps, your accounts, and your installed programs in one ranked list. Your whole PC, two keystrokes away.

🧘

Lives quietly in the tray

Closing a window tucks AppMaka into the system tray instead of killing it. Optional run-at-startup means it's just always there when you want it.

install in a minute

Beginner-proof, promise.

  1. Download the installer with the button on this page — it's a normal .exe, about 9 MB.
  2. Run it. Windows will probably show a blue "Windows protected your PC" box. That's because the installer is unsigned — signing certificates cost real money, and this app is free. Click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Press Alt+Space, add your first site by pasting its URL, and watch it become an app.

straight talk

Early build. On purpose, out in the open.

What you're getting

AppMaka is v0.16.1 — a real, working app that one person built with an AI assistant (Muse) and uses every day, but it's young. A polish pass is in progress right now: window behavior, tab closing, general smoothness. The little things matter, and they're getting fixed in the open.

What will never change: it's free, there's no account, no tracking, no telemetry, and the full source is public. Good tools shouldn't have paywalls — so this one doesn't.

Your websites deserve better than a tab.
